Amy Bloom, a new member of the Studio, is Featured Writer today. I thought her post entitled, "Embracing Imperfection" would be great to share with the group!

I am a very imperfect parent. But I love my boy! Read my blog at www.mommyswhinebar.blogspot.com Maybe it will inspire me to write more if I know even one person looked at it! Thanks!

Hey there folks.  I am new to this site, new to this group, and new to the blogging community.  I started my blog www.everythingsinglemom.com just back in July.  I write about the journey that I'm on of self re-discovery through experiences I've had with relationships, parenting, and everything in between.

My first post on the blog will give you a good idea of who I am: 3 Things Every Single Mom Needs In Her Arsenal

Thanks for checkin me out!

Laura, tae kwon do has been the best gazillion dollars I've ever spent. It has helped mold my boys...and given them a 3x a week outlet. Amazing! I really believe that too much of a testosterone buildup is never a good thing!

I have taken away the xbox and basketball already, but I love the idea of making them work to get it back.

And as for boxing gloves? My boys spar each other in tae kwon do every single week. They get a lot of their frustrations out on each other. It's great to have them be able to "fight" without really "fighting", you know?

Kimberly - I don't have teenage boys, but I do work with them everyday. Put them to work. If they are gonna be cranny about simple things them take the stuff away, temporarily, and make them earn it back - but they have to work together to do it. Just make sure the goal is reasonable and it has a chance of working. I used to work in a sporting goods store and one mom wanted to buy boxing gloves to solve the problem. I do not recommend that...
