Write. Don't Think. Relax.

Every writer has their own approach to the writing process. Some of us have a certain location at a certain time of day where we sit and write. Others stare blankly at the screen, hoping it will magically fill with words. We develop habits, procrastinate, outline, pray, or pound out random thoughts. When I look at the process of how I write, I am reminded of the words of one of the masters of the short story: Ray Bradbury.…See More

"I think I want to try to get some traffic to an old short story of mine, Keeper of the Woodland Creatures. I think it is a fun story geared more toward a younger audience, but I was disappointed at the lack of activity I got from it. I'll keep…"

Tell Us About Yourself
I'm a writer in my late 20s who feels slightly guilty about being on a site where you are supposed to be 30+, but since it was promoted so well by Eric there was no choice but to join up. I like to spend a lot of my free time reading and am a semester away from obtaining my Bachelor's degree in English with a minor in Multimedia Journalism. From there I intend to pursue a Master's in English so that I can start teaching English classes at a college.
Tell Us About Your Writing
I've been writing off and on for over a decade now, with a lot of poetry and stories either being lost or abandoned over the years. I've finally been able to stick to maintaining a blog for almost a year now and hope to start organizing my writing and getting more submissions out to boost my Publication/Rejection ratio. Right now the latter holds a lot higher number, and I intend to change that.
How did you hear about us?

Hi David

I see your the man behind the Scholarly Scribe.

I hope to find time to do more fiction, as you know my main focus is the main blog, the Lawson Report, which is my editorial soapbox to stand and have my say. I do need to go back to my roots and write on the creative side  too.

Hope you enjoy both my writing ventures, I'm trying to get another blog article out soon.

Dealing With Rejection

"We keep going back, stronger, not weaker, because we will not allow rejection to beat us down. It will only strengthen our resolve. To be successful there is no other way." - Earl G. Graves, founder and publisher of Black Enterprise Magazine
